Choosing GROHE bathroom fittings is not only about finding a tap or shower that looks good. The visible finish matters, but the decisions behind the wall matter more: the concealed body, number of water outlets, available pressure, hot-water system and compatibility between each component.
If you are planning a bathroom in Pakistan, use this order: decide whether the fittings will be exposed or concealed, confirm the required outlets, check water pressure and heating, select compatible in-wall and visible parts, and then choose the collection and finish. This sequence reduces the risk of missing components, mismatched trims or changes after tiles have been installed.
For current models, stock and quotations, see GROHE products available from Design Bath. This article focuses on planning and selection.
Five decisions to make first
- Installation typeExposed or concealed, decided before any wall is chased.
- Water outletsHow many outlets the mixer or diverter must control.
- Pressure and heatingPressure at the outlet, pipe size and heater capacity.
- CompatibilityRough-in body, trim and flush plate confirmed as one system.
- Collection and finishChosen last, so it never overrides a technical requirement.
Start with the complete bathroom plan
A bathroom fitting rarely works alone. A basin mixer must suit the basin. A shower control must match the concealed body and the number of outlets. A flush plate must be compatible with its cistern or frame. Before choosing a series, list every water point in the room and mark which components will be inside the wall.
For a typical bathroom, confirm:
- the basin type, tap-hole arrangement and the distance from the spout to the bowl;
- whether the shower needs a rain shower, hand shower, bath spout or a combination;
- how many outlets the mixer or diverter must control;
- whether the WC is floor-mounted or wall-hung, and which cistern or frame system it requires;
- the hot-water source, pipe layout and water pressure available at the fitting; and
- the finish and shape that should repeat across visible fittings and accessories.
If plumbing is already complete, take clear photographs and measurements before ordering. If plumbing has not started, finalise the in-wall parts before chasing walls or laying tiles.
Choose exposed or concealed fittings before tiling
Exposed fittings
An exposed shower mixer or shower system keeps the main control visible on the wall. It is usually easier to install, inspect and replace because fewer working parts are hidden behind the finish. It can be a practical choice for renovations where the wall will not be opened.
Concealed fittings
A concealed system hides the rough-in body and pipe connections inside the wall, leaving the control plate, spout and shower outlets visible. The result is clean and minimal, but it requires earlier planning. The rough-in body and trim are not automatically interchangeable, so buy them as a verified compatible system and keep the installation drawing on site.

Before the wall is closed, ask the installer to pressure-test the pipework, confirm the finished-wall depth and photograph the concealed components. Keep the article numbers and installation documents with the project records.
Check pressure, flow and the hot-water system
A larger rain shower does not automatically create a stronger shower. Its performance depends on the pressure and flow reaching it. Water supplied from an overhead tank, a pressure pump or a direct line can behave differently, and the water heater must be able to support the required flow.
Ask the plumber to assess pressure at the intended outlet, not only at the main supply. Also confirm pipe size, heater capacity and whether more than one outlet is expected to run at the same time. Use the exact product data sheet when comparing requirements. If pressure is uncertain, do not choose a large shower head only from a photograph.
Understand exactly what is included
Two products can look almost identical online but include different components. One box may contain only the visible trim; another may include the concealed body. A shower head may not include the arm. A basin mixer may or may not include a waste set.
Request an itemised quotation with the GROHE article number for every component. For a concealed shower, the list may include the rough-in body, control trim, diverter, wall outlet, shower arm, overhead shower, hand shower, hose and holder. Confirm the final list with the installer before purchase.
Which GROHE fittings may be needed?

Basin mixers and taps
Match the mixer height and spout reach to the basin. A vessel basin often needs a taller mixer or a wall-mounted option, while a compact inset basin may need a lower model. Check that the water lands near the centre of the bowl without splashing against the waste or front edge.

Shower systems and rain showers
Decide whether the installation is exposed or concealed and list each outlet. A simple shower may use one hand shower, while a more complete arrangement may include an overhead shower, hand shower and bath spout. The control must support the chosen arrangement.

Muslim showers and health faucets
Check what the set includes: spray, hose, holder and shut-off arrangement. Confirm the inlet connection, mounting position and how the water supply will be isolated after use. Product availability varies, so verify the exact model rather than relying on a generic picture.

Bath and tub mixers
A bathtub installation may need a bath mixer, spout, hand shower, hose, holder and diverter. Confirm the tub position, spout reach and service access before fixing the plumbing.

Concealed cisterns and flush plates
Treat the cistern, installation frame, wall-hung WC and flush plate as one coordinated system. A flush plate must be compatible with the selected cistern mechanism. See Design Bath’s concealed tank guide and products for related options.

Kitchen mixers
For a kitchen mixer, check the sink tap holes, spout height, cabinet clearance, window position and whether a pull-out spray is required. Confirm hot and cold connections and the available pressure before choosing a model.
How to compare GROHE collections
Choose a collection by its visible design language first, then compare the exact technical specifications of the individual article. Availability and features can vary by model and market.

A simple compatibility check
- Record every article numberWrite down the exact article number of every visible and concealed component.
- Ask for an itemised listRequest a component list instead of a single line such as “complete shower set”.
- Compare the drawingsVerify that the rough-in body, trim and outlets are designed to work together.
- Get installer sign-offAsk the plumber or installer to approve the list before the wall is closed.
- Keep the paperworkStore photographs, invoices, packaging labels and installation instructions for future maintenance.
How to check the product and seller
Use the exact GROHE article number as the reference point. The number on the quotation, packaging and product documentation should match the item you are buying. Ask for a proper invoice and written information about warranty, returns and after-sales support.
If authorised-retailer status matters to you, verify the seller’s current status through GROHE rather than relying only on a logo or old claim. Be cautious when a price is far below other quotations, but compare like for like: a trim-only item can appear much cheaper than a complete set with the concealed body.
What affects GROHE prices in Pakistan?
GROHE prices vary by product category, collection, finish, size, function and included components. A basin mixer, concealed shower set, rain shower, health faucet and complete bathroom package cannot be compared as if they were the same item. Imported stock, exchange rates and availability can also affect a current quotation.
Ask for an itemised price that separates concealed bodies, visible trims and accessories. This makes quotations easier to compare and reduces the chance of discovering missing parts during installation. For the latest availability and price, send Design Bath the model name, article number or a clear product photograph.
What to prepare before visiting a showroom
- a floor plan or simple sketch with dimensions;
- photographs of the plumbing and each wall where fittings will be installed;
- the basin, WC, bathtub and kitchen-sink models, if already selected;
- details of the water source, pressure pump and water heater;
- the number of bathrooms and required water outlets;
- preferred shapes and finishes; and
- a working budget for each bathroom or for the complete project.
This information allows the showroom and installer to identify a complete system instead of recommending isolated products.

Frequently asked questions
Which GROHE collection is best for my bathroom?
There is no single best collection for every bathroom. Start with the shape you prefer, then compare the required mixer height, outlets, concealed components, pressure requirements and budget. Use the exact article number to make the final decision.
Are concealed fittings better than exposed fittings?
Concealed fittings create a cleaner appearance, but they require earlier planning and compatible in-wall components. Exposed fittings are often simpler to install and access. The better choice depends on the stage of construction, design goal, service access and budget.
How do I choose the right rain shower size?
Confirm the available pressure, flow, pipework and heater capacity first. A bigger shower head needs enough water to perform properly. Ask the installer to assess the actual outlet and check the selected model’s data sheet.
Can any GROHE trim be used with any concealed body?
Do not assume that it can. Concealed bodies and trims are made for defined systems and functions. Match the exact article numbers and installation documents, and obtain confirmation before tiling.
How can I check whether a GROHE product is original?
Match the article number across the quotation, packaging and product documents, request an invoice, review the warranty terms and verify current retailer status directly with GROHE when necessary. Avoid judging authenticity from a product photograph alone.
Why do prices for similar GROHE products differ?
The quotation may cover different collections, finishes, sizes or included components. One price may be for visible trim only, while another includes the concealed body and accessories. Compare itemised quotations by exact article number.
Can Design Bath help plan a complete GROHE bathroom set?
Design Bath can help identify matching visible and concealed components based on the plan, required outlets, preferred collection and budget, subject to current stock. Ask the installer to verify the final technical list before installation.
